Current Projects

The Chapter is currently working at the Portage County Historical Society on the Naturalization records that are on file there. This project is about two-thirds finished. It started out as just a listing of names and dates and then a book was found with more names and and index, so now the project has a new focus. It will contain names, dates, place of origin and other miscellaneous information.

A new publication of the wills, estates, and guardianship records located at the Portage County Historical Society is now available for sale. See link in Publications for Sale below.

Indexes to all the scrapbooks and diaries located at the Portage County Historical Society have been completed by our members.
Our goal is to make the history of Portage County available to the genealogist and historian as easy to find as possible.
